Son Köl Lake
Son Köl is located in the southwestern part of the Naryn province within a basin between Son Köl Too and Moldo Too mountain ridges at an altitude of 3016 m. It’s the second largest lake after Issyk Kul with a surface area of 278 km2 (length 29 km, breadth 18 km and max. depth 14 m). The lake is fed by several mountain rivers, wheras only one river with the same name flows out and joins Naryn River. Spacious meadows around the lake have been used as summer pastures by nomadic shepherds since ancient times.
